Manaiakalani Film Festival

Once again we're off to Hoyts Sylvia Park for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. However unlike previous years Miss Walters decided she wanted her class to enter a movie. We all struggled to come up with an idea until a trip to the school library one Monday morning changed everything.

We really enjoyed the story Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae which sparked a lot of discussion around different emotions, being inclusive and how there are so many different styles of dance. This got us thinking about turning the story into a movie. During our Literacy time we started to practice retelling the story and work out how we could include everyone in the process from the script to the animating. 

We had so much fun making our movie and hope you enjoy it.

Term 1

Wow, term 1 has come to an end already! We've had so much fun in our new class and enjoyed doing so many new things like baseball and circle time. Even though we won't be in the classroom for the next 2 weeks, keep coming back to our blog as we'll still be posting on our blog. As one term ends, another one will soon begin so stay tuned as we will have a new topic and more exciting things to share with you.

Meet Paul

My name is Paul. I am a year 4 at Pt. England School. My teacher is called Miss Walters and I think she is nice to Room 11. This year I want to get better at reading.

Meet Tame

My name is Tame and I am a year 4 in Room 11. This year I would like to improve at writing. I am also looking forward to cross country in term 3.

My name is Lizara and I am a year 4. I am in Room Eleven at Pt. England School. My teacher is Miss Walters and I think she is the best teacher in this team. This year I would like to improve at Mathematics. I am going to practice my times tables. I am looking forward to Riverside this year.

Meet Jonson

I am Jonson and I am a year 4 in Room 11 at Pt. England School. My teacher is Miss Walters and I think she is great at being a teacher. For 2011 my learning goal is to improve my reading. To do this I will read each day. I am really looking forward to Baseball with Cola this term.
