Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system because it's clouds keep the heat in. Earth comes next then Mars which is known as the 'red' planet. Jupiter is after Mars and it is the biggest planet in the solar system. Saturn is after Jupiter and it is the second biggest planet and it also has rings around it. Then it is Uranus

and Neptune is the furtherest planet from the sun.

Mercury is the 1st planet from the sun. Venus comes next and it is the hottest one. Mars is the planet we call 'red'. Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. Saturn has a colourful ring around it. Uranus is funny because it spins differently to the other planets. Neptune is the furtherest away from the sun so it is the coldest. Pluto use to be the nineth planet but is now a dwarf planet.

We knew a lot of visitors would be coming over to NZ for the Rugby World Cup. This got us thinking and learning about our own country. I now know that the capital of NZ is Wellington, that is where the our Prime Minister John Key works (in the building called the Beehive because it looks like an actual beehive).
