Jordan's Term 4 iMovie

My imovie is about traveling into space across all of the 8 planets from Mercury to Neptune. The planets orbit around the sun. It takes one year for the Earth to orbit around the sun.

Our topic this term is called 'Outta This World!' and we're learning all about our Solar System.

Mercury is the 1st planet from the sun. Venus comes next and it is the hottest one. Mars is the planet we call 'red'. Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. Saturn has a colourful ring around it. Uranus is funny because it spins differently to the other planets. Neptune is the furtherest away from the sun so it is the coldest. Pluto use to be the nineth planet but is now a dwarf planet.

Taste Testing

Puawai

Guess what! For our writing experience this week we all became taste testers. Miss Walters had organised some food for us.

Asena

Have you ever been a taste tester before? Well I have. This week on Monday Miss Walters told us we were going to become taste testers.

Tame

I was surprised when Miss Walters brought out the first plate. We had to smell the food then taste ti. I thought it was Maple Syrup and I was correct. It was delicious when I finally got to sample a taste of the food.

Jordan

Our second plate had a blob of vegemite on it. I thought it smelt like coco and when I tasted it, it was yuck. My group guessed right because we had some good taste testers.

Nikita

The last sample of the day was mild salsa. When I saw it, smelt it and lastly tasted it I thought it was chilli sauce. Out group was wrong but so was everyone else.

Hannah

I really enjoyed the experience because I love tasting new food. The worst part was when I tasted the vegemite. I hope Miss Walters thinks of another experience soon.

Meet Jordan

My name is Jordan and I am a year 4 in Room 11. My teacher is called Miss Walters and I think she is cool and fun. For 2011 my learning goal is to improve at reading, to do this i'm going to read at school and home. I am really looking forward to athletics this year.
